Christmas Cards Handmade; Make Your Own Christmas Cards; Christmas Card Ideas

Christmas cards handmade by you and your family can be a special family tradition. I met someone recently who talked about how much she looked forward to returning to her family home for the Thanksgiving holiday because that's when she spends time with her sister designing and making Christmas cards for the season. Her whole family gets involved in making them and/or choosing which ones to use for that year. What a heartwarming story and wonderful family project! And I'm sure everyone looks forward to receiving their beautiful homemade christmas cards every year, too.

I used My Digital Studio to make the next two Christmas cards. My Digital Studio lets you make your projects quick and easy, and you don't even need to pull out your paper trimmer or adhesive! My stamp studio stays a lot neater, too!

For the project above I used:

  • Winter Post stamp set
  • Wishes & Greetings stamp set
  • Scallop Oval Punch
  • Curly Label Punch
  • Not quite Navy cardstock
  • Creamy Caramel cardstock
  • Not Quite Navy Villa Designer Series Paper
  • Not Quite Navy grosgrain ribbon
  • Not Quite Navy brads
I stamped the snowflakes in Not Quite Navy and then reduced the opacity on them to around 50%.

This Digital Studio card used Baja Breeze cardstock for the base, and used the Icicle Photo Card background paper as a mat and sized to fit along the bottom portion of the card;

Instructions:

  • “Stamp” the blue snowflakes from Icicle Photo Card elements on the Baja Breeze cardstock, reducing opacity to varying degrees as if they had been stamped off
  • “Stamp” the white snowflakes from Icicle Photo Card elements on the Baja Breeze cardstock, reducing opacity to varying degrees slightly
  • Apply green ribbon from Christmas Jingle across where the two pieces of paper join
  • Layer the snowflake (flower) border from Christmas Cocoa II across the ribbon
  • Apply brads in Styled Silver Hodgepodge and Melon Mambo over the snowflakes
  • Apply the Joy ornament from Christmas Cocoa II
