Finishing/Sealing Spray
for Making Homemade Cards

I stamp on many of my homemade greeting cards (as well as use things like glimmer mist and markers). Do you know of a product on the market used to seal in these items and make the finished product more polised and extend the card's longevity? I've heard that some people actually use hairspray for this, but haven't tried it myself.

Thanks!

Crystal

Sealing Handmade Greeting Cards
by: Rebecca

Hi, Crystal!

I've used hairspray once in a while to seal chalk on a card, but that's the only thing I've heard of using it for.

Depending on what you have used on your card, you could take a Versamark pad and gently apply ink all over the front, then sprinkle on clear embossing powder and heat to set. You could also use a brush to paint on Crystal Effects and let dry. However, if you used waterbased ink you have to be cautious that it doesn't smear.

An alternative is to use craft ink and heat set or heat emboss it to make permanent.

I'm sure there are ways I'm not thinking of at the moment, so if anyone has other ideas please let us know.

And Crystal, feel free to share your beautiful artwork with us!

Rebecca
